God is calling leaders in every parish

By Sean Lynn President God Squad Canada

We are so busy. From this summer’s motorcycle ride to BBQs and painting a Church in the hopes of building bridges with indigenous peoples.

There are so many things that God has put on our hearts.  We need you to let us know what God is putting in yours.  We are looking for leaders in every parish across the country.  That is the task that was given Sean at the Catholic Men’s Leadership Alliance (CMLA):  A vibrant Ministry to Men in every diocese in Canada. Let us go to St. Joseph who inspired us to begin the Litany to St. Joseph Project; putting the litany in song.  Stay tuned for updates whilst we count on your prayers and support.

St. Peter’s Catholic Church https://st-peters.ca/ in Calgary is starting a Holy Hour for Men on the first Saturday of every month.  Please join us on Oct 1, 2022 at 08:00 for the Rosary, 08:30 Mass begins; followed by Adoration.  Confession will be available and there will be fellowship afterwards.

Reserve March 17 and 18 2023 in your calendars for our 26 Annual Men’s Conference.  Remember Jeff Cavins Activated Disciple Change: Bring another man with you to the conference this year.  Sean is very confident that the Spolumbos’ sausages will be back again this next conference.

God Squad wants you!

God Squad is looking for a leader to take over the Disc Golf Evangelization for the 2023 season.  We are especially looking for young men.  You will have all the support you need to be successful; including mentorship.

God Bless.

Don’t miss season three of A Dram With Friends.

We will have new friends visiting us in the pub and we will have some of our old friends coming back; like Jeff Cavins and Jake Khym to start the season off.

Wisdom From The Road Update 11

By Sean Lynn, President of God Squad Canada

Sean wraps up our episodes with some final words of wisdom.

Wear your helmet.

This year, we encountered suffering people all along our route.  We all suffer.  It’s how you deal with suffering that makes the difference.  Riding with men and being able to embrace your crosses together makes that load feel a lot lighter.  Sean encourages you to reach out to a brother, to other men, to God Squad or to men’s ministry in your area.  Look for new ones in your area.

Don’t be afraid to ask a brother to walk with you, or in our case, ride 5,000 plus miles.

God is working in our lives and every single man can play a part in His plan.

By Father Mariuz Aug 2018

take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

(Eph 6:17)

Wisdom From The Road Update 10

By Dwight Whitlach, RITS

Dwight talks to us about being an Activated Disciple.

First invited to ride by Jeff Cavins over 5 years ago Dwight sees meaning in what the men of Riding In The Storm (RITS) stand for:  Bringing young men back to the Church.  Men need to be invited.

When people find out what and who we are, doors open to being prayed for, prayed over or prayed with.

Dwight’s wife makes him go on the God Squad Rides because she’s seen how it makes him a better man.  The rides are an opportunity to be an Activated Disciple, helping others into the Church and also helping him grow in his faith.

What does the Church offer?  The Faith will offer young men peace, fellowship and friends for life.

Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
In all circumstances give thanks,
for this is the will of God
for you in Christ Jesus.

(1 Thes 5:16-18)

Wisdom From The Road Update 8

By Sean Lynn President of God Squad Canada

Running lights, it’s the law.  If you want to be seen, you need to have your lights on.  Our young men need to see men in action in the church. Are you being seen?  Turn on your running lights so that you can be seen at night.  You may even have to turn on your high beams in the darkness.  Be that light of Christ in the world as we were trying to do on this ride with everyone that we met.  Be involved.  You are called to do something. “Be doers of the word” (James 1:22) Whether big or small, God has a plan for you.

Wisdom From The Road Update 6

God Squad introduces you to Father Marius Sztuk, Society of the Divine Saviour (SDS) who in this installment speaks to us from Cheyenne WY.

Father speaks to us about the holiness of vacations, about how being in the midst of the world, away from your daily routine can be a way to learn how to find common ground.  Say like motorcycles, something many have people have in common.  Once common ground is found, you can rest assured that his holy priest will turn the conversation to God.

Learn how messy our lives can be and how we all have our own crosses to carry.

We have been entrusted the great gift of faith and as part of our discipleship, we moved to share it with others.  Vacations are not a vacation from God.  Au contraire.

Wisdom From The Road Update 2

Sean Lynn talks about perspective, the importance of silence and the perspective of the mountains, lake and people.

One guy in Field BC who was victim of sexual abuse in the military, asked us to pray for him.

Heading into the States we ran into 40 C heat, that’s 100 F.  And when the heat dropped down to a sweltering 30 C, after 14 hours of 40 C, that 30 C felt amazing.

These gave me new perspective. Then visiting my Uncle who lost his wife and brother recently give me a new perspective in life.

Please consider God’s perspective and that of those who you encounter.

We are hoping to gather a team to start and complete the work on a Saturday August 27, 2022.

Jake Khym shares words of Wisdom.

Turning off the music and being quiet allowed him to really notice the beauty around him. It’s overwhelming to  see what God has done in creation if you take the time to notice it.

Find some quiet time, get outside and slow down and just connect with the Lord. God is good and He Loves us and He has all kinds of good things for us.

We are hoping to gather a team to start and complete the work on a Saturday August 27, 2022.
